Fresh HopeWritten by jmacaulay on Mar 01, 2016 in Blog - No Comments
Easter brings with it the promise of ‘New Life’! Death doesn’t get to give the final verdict! Jesus’ resurrection means that we have hope beyond the grave!
God loves us so much that He became a man, in the person of Jesus, to live and die for us. On the cross He paid the penalty for our wrong doings, He took the whole guilt of that upon Himself and died in our place.
By rising He proved that death wasn’t the end, but that we too could know a new life. In Christ God offers us a new life and a new start. To receive this we need to; say sorry for our sins, decide with God’s help that we are going to change, and to invite Christ into our lives as Lord and Saviour.
Once we receive Christ we need to follow Him 24/7, with all of our energy. Get into reading the Bible, prayer and coming along to church.
Don’t be afraid to tell others that you have accepted Christ as your Saviour.
Read these words written 700 years before Jesus died:
“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53, verses 4 – 6.
